A still hysterical, screwball comedy, seventy-five years later.

I recall seeing this on television in the early-mid 1950s. I thought it hysterical then, and it still is.

Sixty-fiveish years later I can see a few of the seams in the adaptation from stage play to screen play, but the actors, especially Eve ARDEN, Alan MOWBRAY, and Joe DiRITA are hysterical.

I have long maintained that the supporting players are far more important than the stars. I wish I'd had an English teacher like Miss Arden when I was in high school.
