Bought as a gift. The film is very good, well-acted, but not really to my taste.

Lots of variety, and unusual to see Lawrence Olivier in this kind of role
It was shot in Morecambe Lancs and I live in Morecambe Lancs. Some really good shots of the town in the past.

Well worth watching.
I watched the play in the 1960s.
It was very good then, the film version is very good now.
Its a film of the period.
People were more human then and less 'woke'
Times have changed, mainly for the worse.
DVD and case are in good condition.Read full review

The best from the best
Olivier's superb self-parody backed by a very impressive cast makes this a performance to treasure.

A very different Olivier.
After a great portrayal of the sad, empty character of Archie Rice on the stage, Olivier made this film in 1960 and of course widened its scope and seaside setting (Morecambe) in a failing music hall. Very much of its time, but well worth viewing.Read full review
