A TV classic, as good today as it was then, a true story of unhappiness and despair and disengagement with the rat race, fantastic performance from Leonard rossiter. Not to be tampered with ( martin Clunes please note! Read full review...

Great sitcom.
High quality classic sitcom from the seventies with the great Leonard Rossiter. From a time when they knew how to make sitcoms and weren't censored by the kiljoy PC brigade. Very entertaining, wonderful cast.Read full review...

The Original and The Best
If you are (or have been) a middle-aged middle-manager in a middle-sized company who commutes (or commuted) to work then you will see this series as something like those distorting mirrors at the fairground - including odd reflections of bits of yourself! The acting and writing are flawless yet this comic tragedy is still very much a work of its time, and the sexist and homophobic references may not suit the everyone in the current TV audience.
I bought this so that I had something to watch while the new Martin Clunes dumbed-down 'Reggie Perrin' shows are airing, and the shallowness of the remake (lost as it is without the key elements of formality, class and status) made me buy this original series DVD, and I suggest you do too.Read full review...
