A funny, scary movie

I'd seen this movie at the theater when it was first released. When I found it on DVD, it was a must have. I've always liked Micheal J. Fox, and he brings all of his charisma to this movie. The Frighteners

This is a fun movie that doesn't take itself too seriously. I think it was Michael J. Fox's last movie before his diagnosis.
The characters are played in "hammy" fashion so it's not really scary, even though this type of premise usually is reserved for horror flicks.
There is also a good back story to the main character that ends up being resolved later in the movie.
All in all, I consider "The Frighteners" a movie worth watching. I'm a little surprised that it hasn't developed a bit of a Halloween cult following. Read full review

You can never go wrong with a Michael J. fox movie. This put Michael in a very different type of role & he conquers it. Great story, good plot & great cast.

Don't be afraid to laugh!

A great film about a man who lost his wife but gained the ability to see and talk to ghost. His day job? Cleaning homes of ghost who he actually knows! They 'haunt' and scare parents into using his service and then they are left alone. All goes well until the grim reaper (?, maybe) starts killing people and to those still alive, it looks as though our ghost buster (Michael J. Fox) is the one doing the killing.
