The Greatest Show on Earth
This film is eloquently made, though some names are the same, this is a loosely based story of Barnum’s life. It is a marvelous, delightful, magical, and inspiring film. This musical is so spellbinding, it connects to the viewers that can cast aside, it is, a documentary of Barnum’s actual life.
In this film there are determination and love, a few love stories, there are songs that can be felt and bring personal emotion to the surface, there is the quirkiness, and, oh yes, there is love. Some things stay the same, some things change, but no matter how you view it, the songs are impressive, well-constructed, and hit their mark. The scenes from this film reach the imagination and make you believe. It is so wonderful and amazing that you will get caught up in the heart of the story and you will be cheering for every character in the film.
I personally love the songs so much that bought the soundtrack. You will see this as an iconic journey in finding oneself. but not just for 1 man, but for many,
In the same genre as other musicals, such as Moulin Rouge, Chicago, Rent, and others, this takes the cake in being perfectly directed, hitting all the right marks, and making it all come to life. Let me start out with I did not realize that this was going to be a Musical like Les Misérables. I have to say I love this movie and highly recommend it.
