such a good film

Although an older film,timeless and very capturing.i found I was drawn into the story very early. I don't know if it was based on true life but it is a scenario that could have happened. Amazing film.

Excellent movie, thought provoking

Very good performances by all the main characters. I have never been in favour of capital punishment, I am old enough to remember when we still had it in the UK.
Though still a child, I remember clearly how I felt at the time of the execution. This film brought those memories back.
It highlighted for me the barbarity of the electric chair in particular, and of of capital punishment generally.Read full review...

Wonderful and amazingly good film!!!!

I bought this DVD as its my all time favourite film and I had to have it in my collection. Tom Hanks is amazingly good as Paul Edgecombe who runs E Block (Death Row)and slowly realises he has something special in prisoner John Kofee. A box of tissues is essential while watching this film..its excellent, well acted and even the horrible little Percy Wetmore even gets his in the end.Read full review...
