My daughter who is 20 months has been a bad sleeper on and off but ended up stuck in a cycle of 4 to 5 am wake ups for be last six months plus. Since we started using this clock we have got this to a 6 to 6:30am wake up time. We made a big deal of the star and the sun characters (called Mr Star and Mr Sun obviously) and she loves it. Been such an easy thing to introduce into the routine and has made a big difference. All kids are different and we were sceptical of trying this out but it really has been amazing. Bought this clock for my stepdaughter who’s 5 and it will also be used by the youngest too when she’s old enough. We found our 5year old had been getting up and out of bed too early and taking herself off
downstairs to go on her tablet so we wanted something that she would help her understand that it’s too early to do this. The clock has helped massively, as she does understand that it’s still bedtime when the clock is BLUE and wake up time when the clock is YELLOW. Brilliant to sleep train!
Our son (just turned 4) was waking almost every night and getting into our bed. He is now staying in his room almost every night until the sun comes up. It must be confusing in winter when mornings are dark and in summer when evenings are light and little ones can't tell the time, so this definitely helps define waking time and sleeping time. Really pleased with this. Our guy was almost 3 years old and still getting up too early and then being tired all day.
I think this age was just right for him to understand that if the star was still on, then it was too early to get out of bed and to go back to sleep.
It took about 4 days but, touch wood, he's now sleeping until about 6-30 am which is great for us!
