An Extension Of Shirley Jackson's " That Haunting Of Hill House".

I truly enjoyed the movie, and probably would like the book even more. What I loved is that this re make told us additional information that we didn't get in the first movie. It enlightened the viewer. If you are a fan of the Haunting Of Hill House, then you MUST see this movie. You are sure to have an Ah Ha! moment. Having said that, there is some negatives. The set was astounding. Hill house is super spooky but there are too many styles of architecture on the interior sets. Huge Stone Birds and Sheep in the main hall and stairway? It would have better to have done it all in Victorian style of Goth. Over all a big A+Read full review

The DVD is of good quality so no complaints there. The actors are good, and the production values very very high. The major thing lacking in this movie is good writing. The whole direction of the movie is called character driven. it is not. It's driven more by the special effects and the over the top attention to the props. One wishes to have been given more of a tour of the house and it's decor.
