Brilliant and Heartbreaking.

One of the best films I have watched for a long time, beautifully filmed, full of tensions, but also heartbreaking and presenting the plight/traumas that young children in Afghanistan experience during their lives especially if they are at the more underprivileged end of the scale. Afghanistan is not only about conflict and strife there is far more to it. Film a real eyeopener. Brilliant story, brilliant author, brilliant film. A worth while and emotional film.

Read the book,brilliant. Enjoyed the film which didn't stray from the original story. Didn't recognise any of the actors although they were very good. It's a pity the film didn't have a larger budget to give this best selling book greater scope. As it is, I feel this film was designed for tv viewing. The horrific scenes in Afganistan described in the book were diluted down too much in the film distracting the viewer from the extreme emotions felt from the characters in the book.Read full review

Get what you pay for

Very cheap so thought I was getting a good deal but the DVD crashed only 30 minutes in wouldn’t go any further despite me cleaning disc and trying numerous times. Very disappointed as have been waiting ages to watch this film properly after reading the book :(Read full review

The Kite Runner

An interesting film a story about two young boys the employers son (Amir), and the servant's son,(Hassan) who are friends and Hassan always helps & protects Amir. Then an unfortunate incident happens. You see the background of the country, and the poverty, brutility of the Russians & the conflict, war, within the country.

Amir goes to American, marries, and then he return to his native country, and rescues (Hassan's) son. It is beautifully told and the photography is amazing. I'm glad there is a happy ending to this story.
