THE LEGEND OF BEN HALL MOVIE DVD

Filmed in Victoria, Australia, this was a very interesting movie. All of the actors were Australian, none known to me, but all did a very impressive job in acting their roles. The story was well-written, and should appeal to anyone in the USA who likes Old West type movies. Actually, the history of Australia somewhat parallels what happened in the American west after 1848, with gold discoveries and outlaws who robbed the payrolls, etc. The story happened 1861-65, and accurate period equipment (guns, saddles, clothes, etc) were used in the film. Ben Hall has been called "The Jessie James of Australia", but he was not the killer that Jessie was, pulling off over 600 crimes with a minimum of killing. Read full review

Awesome western based on real people and real events. If you love westerns you'll love this movie and you should definitely add it to your collection of western movies. " Happy Jack" aka John Gilbert reminds me a lot of the Billy the Kid character in Young Guns. You won't be disappointed. Read full review
