It should be made into a movie!

At the beginning of this review, here is a disclaimer: Ken Follett is my favorite author and "The Man from St. Petersburg" is my favorite book of his.

This is a thriller that defies classification. For the purposes of those who may be interested in reading it, the plot details will go unmentioned. With a Ken Follett novel it is just best to find a quiet corner somewhere, open to the first page, and let him draw you in to whatever world he has created.

He wrote this in 1982, fresh on the success of "Eye of the Needle" and "Triple." Mr. Follett was raised by strict religious parents who would entertain themselves with stories about the blitzkrieg or of "The Great War." From this it's clear that Ken Follett loves to tell stories about ordinary people triumphing over evil, despotic forces.

If you like good fiction at all, you'll love Ken Follett!
