Two classics that started the series.

Talk about going back in time! The two T.V. movies that later started the series. Darren McGavin as Kolchack at his best. The Night Stalker(1971)about a reporter after a vampire in Las Vegas. The trials and tribulations involved are classic. The Night Strangler(1972) where Kolchack has to go after a madman dating back to the American Civil War, and whose hunting ground is Seattle. Very enjoyable for the era. I vaguely remember being a kid seeing the series(1974-75), and getting a fright now and then. I am very pleased to have added this particular double feature to my collection.Read full review

Not Bad, but not great

These movies introduced the character of Karl Kolchak. This was the predecessor of the series "Kolchak: The Night Stalker". These television movies are not great cinema, but are entertaining. The characters are engaging but they do not create an lasting impression. These shows are a great introduction to the series that followed.Read full review

Original made for TV movies OUTSTANDING

This is a DVD of the original 2 made for TV movies that started the night stalker show! These were well acted and it was such a blast to watch them, it brought me back to when I was a kid and developing a taste for the strange or different. The acting is top notch and the production quality is fantastic. They don't make em like this anymore. Treat yourself to this double feather! worth every penny!! Thank you

Two old favorites on one DVD. The movies look and sound terrific!

One of my all time favorite made for TV movies from the 1970's. Every time I watch it I am surprised at how good it is. The picture and sound quality is great. Even though this was shot over 50 years ago it looks great on today's HDTV's.Read full review

Entertaining!

Great price for these 2 movies on 1 new DVD. The old Night Stalker series has been on tv lately, but not the two original movies. I remembered them from years ago, and enjoyed watching again.

The main character is portrayed as a low life in both films,

I was disappointed in the film because there were several aspects in both films that were historically inaccurate. Even though it is almost science fiction, the two stories were not that well acted. I was expecting a Perry Mason or a Maddix character and was presented with this clown.Read full review

The Night Stalker/ The Night Strangler

These are two seventies tv movies. They are above average examples of this genre. Not at all graphic, but well paced thrillers for a ninety minute movie. The character of Kolshack, the reporter(played by Darren Mc Gavin) will give baby boomers some nostalgic scary Friday tv movie fun. Will seem dated to kids, but acceptable to parents concerned with overly explicit horror flims.Read full review
