Above average Comedy Buddy Movie

There have been a squillion comedy/action buddy movies and you might wonder why we need another one, but "The Other Guys" is a pastiche of many of the others and you will enjoy the references. Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are good, but there is an excellent supporting cast, such as Michael Keaton and Steve Coogan and an almost cameo appearance from Samuel L. Jackson and The Rock as the cops everyone else wants to be, pretty much steal the show.
There are plenty of laughs and lots of action, but some of the running gags, such as why the Will Ferrell character is irresistible to women really make it above average.
I will watch it again and again and laugh every time at the same jokes the way I do with the Naked Gun films and in fact, cross Naked Gun with Lethal Weapon and you won't be far off.Read full review...

Another great Ferrell title, but still no Anchorman.

Whoever it was who thought Ferrell and Wahlberg would make a good on screen duo was a genius. Your average man would think that wouldn't work a jot, but the chemistry they create is instantly watchable and hugely enjoyable throughout.
I was expecting something as good as Anchorman based on the reviews that I'd read, and on that front I'm afraid to say I was dissapointed. However, it is more akin with Step Brothers, which is frankly an awesome film - as this is.

If you are into slapstick style classic Ferrell humour, then this is another great title for him. The addition of Steve Coogan as well as the Rock (Dwayne Johnson) and Samuel L is also brilliant.

My only advise is to not watch the trailer first, as wait for those moments to appear, and it spoils them when they do.

Great film, a lot of laughs to be had throughout, but the humour isn't for everyone.Read full review...

theyve got the funk

The Other Guys is the sort of movie that generates some of its best jokes quietly in the background or as quick-hit throwaway lines, while other terrific gags are defiantly over the top.

worth a watch!

its very good but I found it not as good as Anchorman or ever Step Brothers but still its funny, if you like Will Ferrell then this is for you.

very funny if you like will farrel. mark wahlberg good as straight guy. A friend loved this film and related all the best bits to me.I coud'nt wait to see it but it failed to be as funny as his version to me, difficult to live up to ones own imagination.
