True story of Holocaust Survivor
Heartbreaking to see the atrocities suffered by Jews in WWII. A well known pianist in Poland is separated from his family and left on his own in Warsaw to find shelter and food and warmth. Hidden by sympathizers in an apartment but at the mercy of a man that collects money for food for the pianist, but doesn't bring it. Befriended by a German officer that brings food and other necessities to help until the Russians arrive.Read full review

Sad, but very good movie.
This movie was definitely hard to watch at some points, since it displayed the actual cruelties of the Nazi's mindset. However, it is needed, since history will repeat itself if it is not retold and if good men of God do not stand for what is right. It made me more thankful for the blessing Christ has given me after watching this movie. I recommend the movie to able high-schoolers (and up) who can handle historical cruel violence.Read full review

Disappointed with historical timeline.
I felt that the historical timeline jumped too quickly, without showing any facts. With the exception of the last half of the film, it was also difficult to believe that Brody was going through hardships. For the most part, Brody was always clean shaven and his hair was always in place. I don't understand how it won Academy awards.Read full review

Great price, excellent film.
The DVD is a great addition to my collection with excellent viewing and added director's commentary. Also, the price - can't beat it.😄

True Story Of Surviving Against All Odds
This movie was taut with suspense from the first 15 minutes through the ending scene. Based on a true story, it follows a Jewish concert pianist in Warsaw, Poland during the German occupation. It WILL grip your soul whether you're Jewish or not!Read full review

Excellent. Exactly as they had said. Still had the wrapper on it. Was pristine inside.

DVD can't be read because it is two-sided
It is a two-sided DVD with "special effects/commentary" on the opposite side of the movie. Apparently, this affects the "reader" of the DVD player (the player is brand new) and the movie freezes and skips. Read full review
