About More Than The Sum Of Its Parts.

This book is in a sense about a journey, but its meat lies between its movements and actions.

The best part of this book is the sense of gravity given to the loss of the human condition. The odd moments of quintessential parental love mixed with the hulking dread of imminent danger, those moments are the highlight of this book and they are heart-breakingly genuine. For anyone thats read this and is just curious as to the thoughts of others; think about that coke can moment. I read somewhere McCarthy was inspired to write this book when he was on a father son trip with his then young son, and had wondered what it would be like to be put into this kind of world with a child. The notion of what would you do. Not being a parent myself I can only imagine how emotionally touching a read this could be for someone who is. Maybe too emotionally raw for some.

It reminds me a lot of what you could guess Coppola's Apocalypse Now could have been had it stuck to the more dreamy poetic prose of Conrad's original delivery. Much like Heart Of Darkness, this is a book I'm sure people will be discovering for the first time long after we are both long gone.

Amazing

Such a well written story. Not the longest book and easy to get through on a lazy weekend then watch the movie.

Just no

The cover doesn't match with the photo. I wanted it just for the cover, for my collection. I've read it online already. Disappointed..
