Good purchase & some nostalgia

Alles gut!! Item arrived as described and unscathed to Zurich. Compilation has now been discontinued. So was happy to find. Bit of nostalgia as my mother had the vinyl release in the 70s and, whilst she preferred the 1st disc, I was fascinated by the 2nd. As a "Golden Oldie" DJ, specialising in top tracks from the 60s, 70s and 80s, I often buy "The Best of .........." some of which are frankly disappointing including tracks which I'd prefer not to play as they detract from an otherwise fine collection from a normally gifted artiste. However my experience with this Rolling Stones collection is that it certainly lives up to the description "The Very Best of". There is not one track I need to select "skip" to on my CD Programmer. The Premium technical quality of the CD's combined with superb handling by my mixer, amplifier and speakers, means I can choose any track at random and satisfy any Stones enthusiast who raved to their original performances on stage or in the studio. The only thing you get on a "live" performance is the atmosphere but technically I much prefer studio production. Certainly highly recommended, whether for DJ's from that era, or Stones collectors. At least in this collection you have both UK and US versions of "High Tide and Green Grass".Read full review...

If you like the Rolling Stones then this is a must have compilation. If you have heard of the Rolling Stones then this is a must have compilation. If you have never heard of the Rolling Stones then this is a great place to start as it is a must have compilation. This double disc Rolled Gold expands on the earlier one disc issue and provides a much better overview of the Stones career right through from their inception up to the issue of their album Sticky Fingers (although only two tracks from Sticky Fingers makes the cut).Read full review...
