With a great cast and based on a good western writer, but ended up mediocre, at best.

I like westerns and the main actors immensely, but this movie fell short. I was disappointed in the entire 2-disc story and wouldn't have purchased it if I had seen it before. Great cast, but very mediocre.Read full review...

Best western flick I've ever seen

Best western flick I've ever seen. The list of actors can't be beat, the story is great, it's filmed well, good story vignettes of western life, drama, comedy, irony... good long running time, as well. You can really get into it. I've given some copies I've bought to friends as gifts.Read full review...

The Sacketts

I had read the books years ago, and the movie is pretty good as far as staying in character, and plot, considering it is two books! I don't believe you could have had 4 better actors to fill the rolls of the Sacketts, and especially Cap Roundtree! All over good entertainment!Read full review...

A Great Western Story

The Sackett series are among my favorite in the Louis L’Amour collection, and this movie does an excellent job in portraying them. It’s got every western actor you can imagine and they play their roles well! This is a must see for anyone who loves western movies. I highly recommended!Read full review...

"BOY, YOUR GONNA FORCE ME TO TAKE HOLD OF THIS PISTOL"

My Dad is a Louis L'Amour fanatic. I think he has read every one of his paper backs. Some of them more than once. My husband also loves the Sacketts. How can you go wrong with Tom Selleck and Sam Elliot? Not to mention Glenn Ford Ben Johnson, and Jack Elam three of the greatest actors of all time. I love westerns and this is an all time classic.Read full review...

The Sacketts 2 DVD's mimiseries

This is a great classic western, that revolves around 3 brothers. The brothers, being Sam Elliot, Tom Selleck, & Jeff Osterhage. Think "Shadow Riders" & "Conagher". It also include such notable actors as, Ben Johnson, Slim Pickens, & Glen Ford. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. The characters have a few twist & turns that are't quite expected. This movie is a must have for anyone who loves the western genre, & the great Louis L'Amore.Read full review...
