A good "Historical" read.

If you are looking for factual and historical information about the Southern Railway and its past, which you will want to use once and return to again later, then you will be on to a good thing!
r>Its contents range across the Southern Railways Area and the different subjects involved in running and maintaining a railway, such as signalling, track work, the bombings of WW2, locomotives, EMUs etc. it is composed of personal recounts, historical information and "previously unpublished" photographs.

It is well put together, has a good content, "but", it is not a "light" read, and a lot of the content is covered as "part works" which carry over into the next edition, mostly due to the need of detail that the subject is covered in!

I intend to collect the set, which will take time!
