Supported by brilliant, surreal imagery, this is the story of a stern father at the centre of a family drama.

The story of a Midwestern family in the 1950's, the film follows the life journey of the eldest son, through childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father. As an adult he finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith. Wonderful stuff!Read full review

Brad Pitt's worst film ever

I just didn't get it. There was a strange storyline with lots of scenery and strange looks from the boy. That's about it - not my cup of tea

Some stunning visuals, very thought prevoking.

A mature brad Pitt delivers a fabulous performance as an overly strict religious father, Sean Penn also excels as one of brad Pitts grown up children as the film spans over two generations. What makes this film so different is the inclusion of some of the most amazing visuals ever to grace a TV screen at various intervals of the film. Certainly one to watch.Read full review

William Blake and the Prophet Job!

An incredibly meditative film. Slow, and at times dreamlike.
It evokes the imagery of William Blake`s paintings and the issue of good and evil hearkens back to the theodicy associated with the Book of Job.
The storyline took a while to actually connect to, especially as to which brother was recalling the past.
NOT your typical commercial cinema film, but well worth `sitting with.`
