worth spending an evening on

One of Newman’s best roles even though it follows in the path his characters often take: down but don’t count him out just yet. The corruption in the courtroom (exhibited by judge and large law firm) is a bit too much to be believable but, hey, it is entertaining. The denouement is full of tension that the story has built up to very tidily. Don’t expect Newman to get the girl. Seems like he never does. Film reminds me of The Philadelphia Lawyers and is far far better than Hud or The Color of Money, both of which are overrated films imho.Read full review

Grainy and not in widescreen but it's still worth a sit

Great movie! If you know anything about procedure, you'll have to ignore the court's rulings but it's a great story of redemption for the once undeserving underdog, Wish it was in widescreen but OK! Don't expect recent blu-ray quality, It's grainy, not remastered or doesn't look like it was. Stillm worth it!Read full review
