One of my favourite ever cd's!

The Verve are one of my top three favourite bands and basically due to shall I say, a change in domestic circumstances I no longer had a copy of this cd and I couldnt bear not to own one! I love everything about the Verve, brilliant lyrics, amazing sound!!Read full review...

Just buy it OK!

How to kill the difficult 2nd album syndrome problem and then some!!
Simply awesome from start to finish - Nick McCabe's guitar is one of many stars on show here. The songs are stronger than Storm in Heaven but still have the first album's psychedelic leanings which made the group such a stand out in the 1995 Britpop dominated Britiash music fabric.
Essential music for all!

Lacks Northern Soul.

I got into the Verve like most, having heard Bitter Sweet, and have waited many years before bothering to buy Northern Soul. And to be absolutely honest, I think its a fairly poor offering by any standards. Don't get me wrong, I wish I was as talented as the Lads, but I read all the reviews possible and deam it a mystery as to why its got such good write ups.... Its not terrible, but with the exception of one track I didn't find anything on it grabbing me by collar and shouting "I'm worth listening to again!"

If your getting it on the cheap then by all means splash out, but I wouldn't waste your money. As should be expected, Its is nothing like Urban Hymns!!
