The Legendary Wire !

The opening salvo from the greatest tv drama of it's time, for my money . I liked this more than the Sopranos (and that's saying a lot!) . The heroes are flawed, the bad guys VERY bad and in the middle are kids trying to survive horrible odds . Full of amazing characters, beautifully portrayed by great actors playing to a tight, twisty script .

One of the best TV series.

Extremely good series. All characters are so credible. I found the subtitles essential to comprehend the street language which ultimately was rewarding in the challenging story lines.

The Wire draws you in to 2 cultures with their similarities, their conflicts. And it’s pacy but occasionally contemplative, and even beautiful with starkness. A great story with a plot that can be followed, belivable characters that create a certain empathey weather they are the good guys or the bad guys. The Wire Season 1 review

A pretty good and gritty crime drama.

They go that extra mile to make the wire more realistic which in some sense can be pretty brutal through violence and drug taking but thats one of things i like about it.

The characters once you got to know them are likeable and you develop an attachment which has so far dragged me to season 2.

Overall though i was expecting more as this had been hyped up to me years ago. Still pretty good but a little dissapointed 3.5 / 5
