In need of good book.

I needed something good to read. With all the crab on tv. it was just nice to get back to reading. I like that it was easy to read and enjoyed just sitting back and relaxing with a good book. The author ideas, concepts and decriptions where great. I just needed a way to relax my mind, instead of watching tired tv.Read full review...

The Women Who Raised Me

This book appealed to me in several ways. This is a woman that thrived and became a sucessful, productive, articulate woman, although raised in the foster care system. Her story tells of the remarkable women that gave their lives to the children. It also gave insight into the life of her birth mother, too ill to care for herself, let alone the large sibling group, yet attempted to have input into the care on behalf of the children she truely loved. Having worked closely with Child Protective Services professionally, and caring for the children that suffer varied degrees of abuse or neglect, I saw this book as hope for these broken children.
I would recommend this book to anyone that works in this area, wants to foster a child, or explore the impact of nuturing in early childhood.

Great author!!!!

I haven't read this book yet, but I grew up with Victoria Rowell in foster care and she was a great person then, so I know that her writting will be just as insightful as she is.
I look forward to getting to read this book!! I can only imaging that it is going to be a great story.Read full review...
