A great incentive.

This book is written by a great communicator making the content both lucid and compelling. The content provided just the kickstart I needed after a three year period of serious surgery, which precluded too much strenuous activity and resulted in unwelcome weight gain.

The eating plan and recipes are quite delicious and after three weeks I have managed to lose 7lbs, which is a great incentive to continue.

It worked.

Last Summer, adopting the principles detailed in the book, I lost nearly four stone and managed to keep it off through the Winter. I am diabetic with high blood pressure and losing that weight halved my medication. I plane to a further one and a half stone this Summer and will hopefully be able to come off medication completely.

The book is easy to read and the explanations on why it works was easy to understand and made a lot of sense even though it blows many traditional views on losing weight out of the water.

It sounds like a trite statement but it really changed my life.

Fantastic book.

I found this book to be very interesting and informative.
My fasting blood sugar was almost in the diabetic range, but is now in the normal range, most days. I have been following this plan for five weeks and have lost 22lb. It's hard in the first few days, massive headaches and getting used to not stuffing myself silly! By day 3, the headaches were much easier, and I think by day 4 or 5, they were gone. I wasn't too keen on the meal plans, so I just worked out my own meals by keeping the total calories at around 800 and the carbs low.
As I said, it is hard in the beginning, but it is well worth it for the results!!

This book changed my life!

I was found to be prediabetic and this book was recommended to me as the diet can reverse pre and full blown type 2 diabetes. I read the whole book before starting the diet and didn't believe I would stick to it because hunger has made me give up every other diet I'd tried. Since having my children I've been about 20 pounds overweight and am now a grandmother. I didn't use many of the recipes but followed the principles outlined in the book with food I'm more familiar with, upping proteins and vegetables and cutting the carbs. Unexpectedly my hunger disappeared after a few days. The weight loss began around my middle which was a huge incentive to carry on, along with the fear of diabetes. After a couple of months my weight was down by 19 pounds and has stayed the same for four months even over Christmas. The best thing since sliced bread!

Great book. Very informative, practical, and it works. Just don't eat sliced bread.I have been on many diet regimes over the years, Weight Watchers, Slimming World, plus trying on my own, but none are as good as this. The reason is it tells you why you put on weight, carbs and sugar products, and how diabetes occurs.
If you think you cannot stick to 800 ish calories a day you'll soon find out you are wrong. When you start eating more veg and less potatoes, pasta, rice and sugary foods your hunger pangs subside. I am on week 5 and I have lost 28 lbs so far.
The most important point of the book is it shows you why you put on weight and how to keep the weight off. I may or may not be prediabetic/diabetic but I was 4 stone over weight, and it works. One last point is it important to do some exercise. I am feeling a far healthier person already.

fascinating diabetes must

being an insulin dependant diabetic I was intrigued by this book and although I cant follow the strict fasting days I have adjusted my diet as much I as can and by simply removing low fat products and increasing my fat consumption slightly it has definitely improved my blood control and made me less hungry. In my opinion, I found the recipes too complicated, although I haven't looked at all of them in detail but the ingredients needed are not on most people's shopping list.
