Great story allowed to breathe

This epic story has been jammed into a 1.5-2 hour movie repeatedly and it never does it justice. This is a chance to let a true heavyweight (Depardieu) get his teeth into the story in FOUR feature length episodes. Adapted in a slightly more interesting way than purely chronological, it holds the attention and grows with each episode. A few liberties have been taken, but in general an extremely enjoyable version of possibly one of the greatest adventure plots ever written. Read full review
