Superb Sound!

I grabbed this gem at a good price and then gave a careful listen. Wow! I compared this to my original Japanese CD (on the Harvest label) and there is a distinct difference in the sound quality. It is amazing! Like when you first watched HDTV as compared to your old TV. Over the years I have listened to this album at least 100 times. On vinyl, 8 track , cassette, CD..This SACD mastering was truly an experience. Nuances heard that I did not know existed. The depth of sound is amazing. When I received the album in the mail I know I had that look on my face,,you know the one,, like when you throw your dog the T"bone".. Once I picked it clean, all I wanted to do was lay there and lick my.........fingers..HaHa.. Highly recommend.Read full review...

Recommended if you have a 5.1 SACD capable system.

I recently setup a 5.1 system in my home and this disc sounds wonderful. Recommended for all Pink Floyd fans. Sounds much better than stereo. Separate instruments / sounds come from separate channels. For example on "Money" the cash register sounds revolve around the speakers. On "Us and Them" the sax comes from the center channel. WHAT I LOVE IS THE QUALITY OF THIS RECORDING IT IS BEAUTYFUL. I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE I HAVE OWNED IT IN THE PAST IN LP FORM AND LOVED IT THEN. BUT FINALLY WITH THE HELP OF SOME TUBE EQUIPMENT AND SUPER AUDIO CDs AND SHM CDs AND XRCDs THE CDs ARE FINALLY PROVING THEIR SUPERIORITY OVER THE SOUND OF LPs. AFTER 10 YEARS WITHOUT LISTENING TO MUSIC BECAUSE CD MUSIC SOUNDED LIKE CRAP I AM BACK AND MORE THAN DELIGHTED.
