A must see adult thriller

Superb adaptation of the Stieg Larsson novel, this first part of the trilogy is well acted by all but especially Rooney Mara as the man-hating, tattooed computer hacker who teams up with Daniel Craig to track down a vicious woman hater and killer lurking within the Vanger family, riddled with nazis.Read full review...

Dragons Tats & Secrets

I've not seen the original Swedish film, but this with the amazing Rooney Mara and the always worth while Daniel Craig is brilliant. Basically Mara is Lisbeth Salander a young, troubled, but brilliant computor hacker who joins with outcast journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) to find out what happened to a young girl 40 years before by her uncle, a dying, reclusive billionaire played well by Christopher Plummer.

There is a brutal rape scene with Salander and an equally brutal revenge for it as well as some quite upsetting imagery of women and a cat being killed which makes this a film not for the faint hearted. Mara pulls off moody, quiet and not a little mentally unhinged to perfection with a character who is also powerful in her knowledge of computors and extremely smart while Craig is suitably downtrodden, but completely charismatic in his tenacious search for answers.

The music is excellent and the photography is brilliant too. The supporting cast all play their parts very well. All in all this is a great and atmostpheric film, well acted and well filmed.
