Not as compelling as I anticipated

This is a classic and well written. Normally I read a book first then watch it on tv and the production dissapoints compared with my imaginings from the book. In this case, the televised version wins hands down because over several series it has the time and scope to expand on the original story. If I hadn’t seen the tv series I think I would have been a bit perplexed by the book. As a result the book was a bit ‘thin’.Read full review
