No better book on jet engine technology

This book has no worthy equal. It is written by the best brains at Rolls Royce, and is the de facto reference work on jet engines. Written so it can be understood by most people, the level of detail is exceptional. The diagrams are the best that you could ask for, produced by the company's own artists and illustrators. As an engine nerd I have 3 different editions, as each one changes, and introduces the latest technologies of the days in which it was published. Some areas are little changed, but the differences in blade technology are one area in particular, that make for fascinating study across successive editions. For the students, it has all the mathematical calculations for basics of design, in the back end of the book - again, comprehensive. The colour cross-sections are classic PR material, and a feast for the eyes to gaze over. An absolutely superb publication, by a company that is rightfully proud of its history, and ensures that history is well documented, and not forgotten.Read full review
