The Passion Of The Christ

Whether religious or not, this is a film with a deeply moving story.. the final 12 hours of Jesus' life.

I first saw this film in a shop and almost laughed at it, but I was later told by several people to buy it and so I did. I was surprised to find that when I got home and put it in the DVD player, the film was not spoken in english. The language of the film is infact Jesus' language, but with subtitles it is possible to understand what is being said.

The special effects of the film are excellent, with parts that made me cringe (and as a fan of horrors, mainly zombie flicks, thats quite a feat) and other parts that made friends cry, notably the end.

The film is deeply touching, and that is coming from someone with no religious background. The only problem with the film was the language barrier, although the subtitles were there. Definately a film worth buying, but if you don't like blood then it may not be for you.

The Passion of the Christ; Absolutely Brilliant!

From a Christian point of view, I would say that this film bears an accurate account of Christ's last 12 hours in my limited knowledge. This film is beautifully shot, and shares with the watcher what Jesus represents, and why he is so loved by so many people to date. There is of course a language barrier, but out of all the American and British accent versions of Christ's life; this offers something that is a bit more closer to the true experience with the aramaic language. I loved the lighting and the way that the story reflected the pain and suffering that Christ underwent for Human kind. There is alot of blood and alot of emotion set into this film. I feel that the final scenes of this film are some of the finest shot scenes I have ever seen. All in all: Very emotional, very bloody, a story presented in a very high quality form, definately worth watching once; Christian or not.

God Bless.

The Passion of Christ

This film is by far the best DVD we now own. It is full of passion, and is heart wrenchingly terrific. You almost immediately forget that the film is subtitled. It is spoken in Latin, Aramaic and Hebrew which made it feel like you were actually witnessing the last moments of Christ before he died on the Cross.

The film is, in my opinion, the most graphic and accurate account of the Passion of Christ.

Well and truly worth a buy.

Passion of Christ/ Ian

Ive watched a lot of horror movies but this takes the prize as the worst. I first watched it at the cinema and wanted to scream at the picture to leave Christ alone. But watching it for the first time i actually felt i had seen Christ being killed when it did happen, in real life. Im a born again christian so ive read the account of Jesus being tortured but this movie brings home that Jesus took all that, so i could be saved. The Passion of Christ isnt just for believers, if your interested in how life was 2000years ago with roman occupation and how the jews played a part in this shameful piece of murder, then you wont be left disappointed.Read full review...

An important film that shows the atoning work of Jesus

I have heard about the film long ago but never had the opportunity of watching it. My family and I stayed glued to the TV when we had the DVD, and it brought to mind the great price paid for us on the cross of calvary by Jesus Christ.
Initially everything was in aramaic (hebrew?) language and I was quite upset that we could not understand what was being said. We later discovered that the english translation was on the screen.
My second daughter was in tears seeing the big nails being pierced into the hands of Jesus, and at the end of it, we were thanking God for showing us such mercies by making Jesus to die for our sins.

The Passion of The Christ DVD

A powerful Mel Gibson film portrayed in graphic detail, the last weeks of Jesus life on earth. It is a very factual and accurate film when compared alongside the New Testament Gospels and is very well put together. Whether your a Christian believer or not, its worth a look to decide for yourself. At the end of the day Christianity is generaly mocked these days and modern day Christians are scoffed at, like those in the film, but buy this DVD and watch it in the comfort of your own home, then when its finished ask yourself this question - Now, who do I say Jesus really was?Read full review...

Having decided to add this dvd to my collection i purchased it for a very cheep price off ebay.It is one of the best films i have ever seen! It has so much emotion and action it is one for both the boys and the girls. It is an all round good film and although it is about Jesus it is not a normal churchy religious film. It has Real action Real Emotion and very good acting from James Caviezel.i would say the film is a bit of a tear-jerker but also reveals hope at the same time.I would give the film 10/10 and i would really recommend it to anyone .Read full review...

The Passion of the Christ

An excellent film for both Christians and Atheists. Although very graphic, it does deliver the message/story of the last 12 hours of Jesus Christs life - and even if you do not believe in this, it does give you an idea of the horrible things we did to each other in the past as punishments.Read full review...

Brilliantly written & performed – A timeless classic

This DVD was bought to replace the one I'd loaned out to someone & lost.
The film is a true classic & one to open the eyes of anyone raised in a western culture.
Despite the fact most people will have to rely upon the subtitles to follow the storyline, most will know the substance of the events from a western school upbringing.
It laid to rest my own misgivings of being "preached" about the events from my schooldays.
A film everyone should take the opportunity to watch.
