'One of the best'

Nothing can surpass the gullibility of the American Radio Audience, when in 1938, just before Halloween, a certain Orsene Wells ( no relation to HG Wells) put the fear of 'Martian Invasion' right into their homes. There have then been a few versions of the 'War of the Worlds. This one, is definately 'one of the best'.
Not only for the voice of Richard Burton, and of course David Essex. Many other stars of course, Julie Covington, Justin Hayward, Phil Lynott, great established stars, and of course music by Jeffe Wayne.
The films made of course by Americans, feature Americans, and take part in America. This version brings it all a little closer to home, Woking in Surrey. To be more precise, Horsell Common.
So what so special about that then?
Well, I used to live there. Lets face it, Horsell Common never had anything going for it untill Jeffe Wayne's version. This is a great Musical version of a great classic. A great pity that some of our (English) film maker did not realise the potential at the time of it's release. Great music, great stars, what more do you need. Buy it.
