Thetford Porta Potti Bellows Kit - White

Couldn't be simpler

Bought this replacement as our 2nd hand loo had sprung a leak on the bellows. It appears to be an almost universal spare for so many of their range. It comes with instructions and there are some useful Youtube videos available. I did have to get a little rough (use a little force) when taking out the old bellows but it was easy enough and the replacement fitted in precisely as it should. There is some kind of adhesive / sealant covered with tape (which you remove) on the bellows fitting that ensures there are no leaks. I took the time to clean up the parts where the sealant meets the main body and the internal pipes. Now it's as good as new.Read full review

Perseverance Pays Off

The only difficulty is removing the old bellows, it's bedded in powerfully strong mastic! Suggest two long nosed pliers plus an old screwdriver (also useful for clearing old mastic from the seating). New pump comes with mastic beading in place. The instructions are clear enough and the fitting of the new pump fairly straightforward if you take care. Be sure to get the alignment of the flushing hose ok to avoid twisting or kinking.Read full review

Great part but a little tricky to fit

Works well but dip tube fractionally too long - I had to reduce it slightly so that the unit would seat properly on the adhesive seal. Otherwise it was fine

Good fix

I replaced a plunger type pump with this bellows. It was about one third of the price and seems more robust.(If you do likewise you will also require an inlet pipe valve - also cheaply available).

Good but could be improved.

The bellows were fine and straightforward to fit. However it’s a ‘get-it-right-first-time’ job as there was no spare sealant in the pack so if you fit it and it doesn’t work the one seal you have will get destroyed removing it again. For this reason it would be better if it came with a spare seal. It would also be better to include a new inlet valve as it’s difficult to tell by inspection whether the old one needs replacing.Read full review

Toilet bellows

Works great.
Be sure to really read the instructions. The old black glue needs to be cleaned off to accommodate and allow a good weal for the new one. Prize off gently with a screwdriver all round the edge on the old one.Read full review

Replaced split bellows effectively

Bought to replace bellows that had split on my 15 year old Porta Potti. Easy job to fit and took only about 10 minutes. Works perfectly and has given the Port Potti a new lease of life.

If your portable loo wont flush chances are there will be a pin hole or tiny split. A little fiddly to remove the old unit but with care all good afterwards. Be careful with the connecting pipes as they can be akward to remove and refit. Try some hot but not boiling water on them.Read full review
