They Wait (DVD, 2008)

Good film, don't listen to the critics.

Good film, very enjoyable with a good touch of 'scary.' I'm well versed in Chinese lore and history and speak Mandarin Chinese. I found the film entertaining enough to purchase to share with my family, all Chinese. Not a huge budget buster, this modest film has a good, understandable story line and enough detail and scary stuff to make it across the finish line with a very satisfied audience, my family. Critics will always be critical and keep in mind no critic has ever wrote, produced or directed a movie. So who chose them to be critics? All my adult life I've heard and listened the proclamations of critics only to thoroughly enjoy the film they poo pooed. Everything does not have to be a multimillion dollar flick to be VERY entertaining and enjoyable in spite of their concocted faults.....nobody's going to watch this film with a pair of tweezers and a microscope. Give me a break! Nobody goes to the movie with a scrap book looking for faults...who cares?? Except the critic. Sure there may be imperfections but as with "They Wait" the faults to my experience are greatly outweighed by very good acting and great story telling. Isn't that the point of a movie??? "They Wait" is a well deserved film for a great evening's entertainment! Any you don't have to be able to speak Chinese! (it's in Engrish!)....LOL Buy it! Thanks!Read full review
