A great band with a great sound

I decided to buy this because i'd heard their latest single 'the kill' and thought they were great so i thought i'd buy both their albums. This one is very different from the second as it's Leto playing most of the instruments with his brother on drums. The whole album is fantastic, both the lyrics and music create an otherworldly feel about the album, it creates a whole new universe for you to get lost in. Both Letos (Jared and Shannon) are very talented, with Jared doing the art work for the CD and Shannon doing the photography. It's rare that an actor of Jared's talent could pull this off, but he does it and he does it well. My personal favourites are Capricorn (A Brand New Name) and Oblivion, both sound really good acoustic too.Read full review...

A Good First, But Beaten

30 Seconds To Mars' first album was a very good attempt on their behalf, but i feel that it could have been much better. Their second album was very successful and their third album will hopefully be as good or better, but i would still recommend this album to 30 Second To Mars fans, as there are some good tracks on here and it's nice to see how the band has come along over the years.Read full review...

I recently bought 'A Beautiful Lie' and it has to be one of the best cd's I have purchased for a long time, so decided to buy the first CD. This CD takes a little more time to get used to, and although it is still a good CD, it is not, in my opinion, as good as the second one. However, I do not regret getting it and am enjoying listening to it, but not so much as 'A Beautiful Lie' which is absolutely fantastic.Read full review...
