I'll be honest; because this little item is in the lower price bracket, I wasn't expecting much. I thought I'd venture into the air-popped home-generated pocorn arena, rather than buy the pre-packed or microwave packs stuffed full of sugar and/or salt, and this was by way of an easy introduction. But actually, it works a treat. I made the mistake (once) of taking the instructions literally ("add one scoop of kernels"), and the resulting fusillade of popping and tsunami of popped corn induced mild panic. It really does do its job - but you have to be on the alert to catch stray corn shooting out of the - er - chute, at high speed. It's small, but quite capable of littering your kitchen with popped corn. Being small though, it's ideal for one person, but if you're a family more used to cinema-type buckets of the stuff, you might be waiting a while. Read full review

Nice idea but doesn't work well in practice.

The concept of heating the corn kernels until they popped, and then blowing the lightened popcorn out of the nozzle into a collecting bowl is excellent. Sadly, it didn't work as well as I had hoped. As each kernel popped, it blasted some of the un-popped corn out with it into the bowl so that almost half the corn wasn't done, and much of the popped corn flew out all over the counter. This happened however small a quantity was tried. and however I rigged up deflection screens to control the flight of the popcorn. In the end I gave up and returned the machine at a postage cost of £3+ but to be fair Tool Time UK Ltd refunded me straight away so no complaints there.Read full review

Wow that's quick

Used to making popcorn in the microwave, this is so much quicker. Also the corns have a more complete 'pop' bigger and lighter is the end result. Down side is they dont keep long (my microwave pops can last a few days if I make a big portion and they dont loose thier quality) so just make what you want to eat ther and then. The pops fly out of the machine so you will need a big bowl to catch them in.Read full review

Great ... but not for parties!

It all works fine except that it will only let you do one portion. Even then, if you put too much in, it will stop before the corn is popped. It does warn you about overheating but this is very sensitive. It's fine if you don't put too much in.Read full review

Disappointing

I had a similar machine but it broke down and I decided to go for this but was left very unimpressed. Almost 50% of the kernels are spat out without being popped. The only upside to this product is that it doesn’t move in its place very much when it’s on. Honestly would recommend, you could probably spend five more quid for a better machine.Read full review
