I can't testify to its long-term durability/reliability, as I'll only be using the timer occasionally. However, at least it looks like the original, fit into place correctly, came with good instructions for installation, and during test run was quiet and smooth. I'm assuming this unit will function reliably for many years; the original was problem-free for around 10+ years, running all during the growing season as a timer for our drip irrigation system. The only reason I replaced the motor was because the original was starting to make a slight growling sound, which made me suspect the gear train was wearing out. When I disassembled the original motor/gear unit I couldn't see any evidence of deterioration, but feel in my case was better to be on the safe side.Read full review
