Great replacement for a 40gb 4th gen.. I expect

SonI bought this as a replacement deive for a 20Gb 4th gen ipod .. not realising it was too thick to get the case closed.. my fault entirely.. I now have a franken-pod!

However the drive works fantastically and I didnt have any problems with the actual technical side .. loaded my itunes lib no problem and brought a dead ipod back to life.. I have since ordered a 30GB model which will fit the case and I'll swap this out and build it into my workshop ipod :)

I think this 60GB drive will most likely fit the thicker 40GB case of the 4th Gen.

Even though I purchased the wrong item Im very happy to have resurrected a dead ipod i to a useable piece of kit.. the drive came exceptionally well packaged too so I had no fear of it being DOA due to shock in transit.Read full review

30gb replacement hard drive

I've used adapters and cf cards to upgrade iPods but for the price 30gb is more than enough space for most and they are reliable and original
