SPOIL-FREE REVIEW: The plot looks to revolve around an "art heist", but don't be mistaken...TRANCE is anything but another art heist caper film!! The writing and performances are all masterful! James McEvoy is the magnetic lead, playing Simon, who stole the painting, received a severe blow to the head by Frank, a wicked bad-ass very well-done by Vincent Cassei, which results in Simon losing his memory as to what he's done with the painting. Giving a bewitching & captivating performance is Rosario Dawson, playing the hypotherapist Simon is brought to for hypotherapy to try this method to coax his memory into revealing what's become of the painting...

This is where TRANCE really beings to play with views minds', teasing & tantalizing us with each step Simon takes!! Here's the real plot: memories - real, suppressed, implanted (perhaps false) & suppressed memories. This recipe proved deliciously entertaining!! The viewer is taken on a twisting, turning, taunting, engrossing ride of what may be real or imagined! While it may sound confusing, the brilliant writer(s) of TRANCE & the director, Danny Boyle, "almost" answer each new question as it unfolds...(or do they)??!
