Suitable for young and old ! Classical story !
A remake of one of the many "Treasure Island" movies, but Kevin Zegers makes it so much better then the other ones ! Entertainment for young and old ! See it for yourself !
Treasure Island. Jack Palance.
It is a brilliant and well acted DVD. Treasure Island was the first book I read as a 5 year old and it always stuck in my mind. When my little boy was old enough to understand I decided to take him on the treasure Island adventure, hence I purchased this. He is just over 3 and he can name every character in the film without thinking. He actually says the actors lines before they do. Apart from that he is absolutely pirate daft. It also gives me great pleasure to see him enjoy the DVD and how folk lived those many moons ago. I followed up with the purchase of Peter Pan through eBay which he loves also. So I am always on the look out for similar titles and often check for pirate (NOT PIRATE COPIES I MUST ADD) updates. It is of course marvellous to watch all DVDs on our large LCD screen without the old window reflections bang in the middle of your regular glass screen. So we now have a happy household and no more whinging and closing curtains and shutting doors.Read full review...

treasure island (dvd 2000)
i was running a fundraising event, we had a "find the treasure game" and this formed part of the winning prize! i had seen the film and loved it. wish i could have been the winner!
Treasure Island - Jack Palance etc
Excellent actors but film strays from the book's plot. The end is completely wrong and also rubbish but if your children haven't read the book they'll like it. Much better production is the BBC series with Alfred Burke as LJS but that is only on VHS I think.( 3hours)

Treasure Island
My husband and I used to watch this film when we were little and thought our son who is 7 would really enjoy it.
bit slow not as good i would of liked
it is watchable but not very well acted good names for pirates story line is right, just not exciting.
Some films don't age well
After watching the enthralling series Black Sails, a friend and I decide to watch some old adaptations of Long John Silver in a couple of Treasure Island movies from years passed, an old 1972 Disney version and this one with Jack Palance who's acting is just over the top and kinda weird. Neither films are much fun at all, maybe it's because I'm used to the multi million dollar modern productions but the simple fact is I don't ever want to have to endure any of these two films again...
I said it was good value simply because it was only £1 or £2 so worth a shot if you really want to see how far filmmaking has come.Read full review...
