Tremolo arm tension spring

Unfortunately, the spring supplied is nothing like the one pictured. The original fender type are a strong, hard to compress type which look like that in the photo but the reality is, you'll receive a flimsy spring akin to those you get with cheap pickups or bridge saddles. I put it in my tremolo and it felt great when I was winding the tremolo arm in but when I turned the arm back one turn, it felt loose like before. When I took the spring out it had compressed in to a small ball. Nievely, I thought I had over tightened the arm so tried again with the other spring (I bought 2) and it did the same, except it's now stuck in my trem. I've never given negative feedback or reviews in the years I've used Ebay but this occasion I feel really disappointed. Sometimes cheapness isn't cheerful.Read full review...

Check your tremolo before buying!!!

I made a mistake, and didn't have a closer look at my squier affinity tremolo... the trem hole is straight through, not blanked, so the spring fell right through the tremolo hole. It is useless to me, but i learned from my mistake. Anyway, felt like it is strong enough, good material, maybe you're going to enjoy it...Read full review...

Fender stratocaster trem arm tension spring

If you have a Stratocaster, you should get one of these in the packet with the spare trem springs and you should install it down the trem arm hole, before screwing in the trem arm.

The spring provides 'back pressure' resistance to the arm and keeps the base of the arm tensioned against the threads of the arm and the trem block.

This keeps the arm 'where you left it' and prevents the block threads wearing.

I have installed them on guitars where they were missing and this ahs been a great improvement.
