Nice tool at a good price
After decades of sharpening plane irons and chisels just by hand, I thought I would give this a go. It is much cheaper than many of the honing guides on the market, but appears to be pretty well engineered. Works very well indeed with a plane iron, though a bit of a faff to get a chisel to sit straight - but it holds fast once you do. As another reviewer said, a couple of notches on the chisel holding part would fix this.
In terms of performance, well, it makes it easy to get a consistent bevel, but the key factor is that it gives a nice consistent secondary bevel too, which is far more difficult to do by hand. My chisels and plane irons are sharp, and it is easier to achieve than just sharpening by hand. Well worth it at the price.Read full review...

A must have gadget to keep your chisels sharp.
A bit fiddly to tighten up and measure the correct distance using a ruler to get the correct angle to sharpen but if you make a little jig with some spare wood it will be much easier, apart from that it's a very useful bit of kit for very little money especially considering how expensive some diamond sharpening stones cost.Read full review...

Very good but leave of the paint
Arrived very quickly good quick service
Being a newcomer to wood working I have not been able to sharpen my plane blades very well a short time spent using this guide and they work better than they ever have before only problem was that I had to take the paint off the side of the guide to read the degree lengths as it was to thick
But as it was half the price of top guides can't really complain to much
