True grit was demonstrated by one of the men whom the girl employed to help her in her quest but could also describe the spirit of the girl herself
An enjoyable story about a very plucky 14 year old girl in 1890 America who wants to avenge the murder of her father by finding the man who shot him. Created the atmosphere of the time very well.

Gripping, witty, with "true grit." Does what is says on the tin!
Witty dialogue and a strong narrative voice. You feel like Mattie Ross is someone you know, with her opinions, observations (sometimes remarkably true), and half-remembered quotes thrown in as the adventure goes along. Gripping tale, well told, with a distinct flavour.Read full review

Fantastic book
The book arrived in good condition, and was exactly as described. The story is a real classic, I loved both movies and was interested in seeing what the book was like. Absolutely brilliant, and I finished in a couple of days despite not being an avid reader of fiction. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone who knows the story or not.Read full review
