Incredibly useful collection of component design
When you are learning or indeed well advanced but want to try different subjects to develop general drafting skills it is always difficult to find a suitable topic or object to draw. This book provides a couple of hundred examples of components that you might meet in a jobbing shop. They are all carefully dimensioned with usually three views in third angle projection and one in 3D isometric.
It would also be very useful for somebody just learning how to draw an object in three view third angle or conversely give somebody the three views to train them in solids visualisation.
One thing it does not do is give step by step instructions how to do the drawings. That might have been useful for some but would make a very boring narrative because we all tackle design in slightly different ways.
In my opinion it is worth its weight in gold for a budding designer and an excellent publication. Read full review

Best to avoid this book
The book only has drawings of items without any tutorials about how to draw them. Not much use as a learning aid
