Ubiquiti Networks USG-PRO-4 Enterprise Gateway Router with Gigabit Ethernet

Works well, yet a bit cumbersome to setup the first time.

Had some difficulty configuring the router into an existing network (that did not use "192.168.1.X" subnet). I had to manually download firmware to my phone (because my router wan't working/had no internet ... ) and move it to my desktop via USB to first upgrade the firmware (the existing firmware would not work with my Ubiquiti console software version and since I had no internet, the console wasn't able to upgrade the router's firmware). You really should "know" what has to happen if you wish to set this up quickly. Took me about 2 hours or so to setup (first time using Ubiquiti's software, so part of that is learning curve of the console software/knowing how to do what was necessary).

Does my home LAN just right..

Had some Ubiquity gear from a deceased tech family member. Rebuilt my own home network and, exploring the Unifi ecosystem, I decided to invest in the USG Pro 4 since the other gear would work well with it and give me the IDS/IPS, Insight, and stats I would like to get. Being an IT guy nearing 40 years I've always had the luxury of a great home LAN and this product just helped me get to the 'next level' being a "prosumer" with this product.

Does well for me and while I may have gone in another direction, I'm pleased I was able to come into this existing hardware and expand from there. Unifi system is great and while not the most 'thorough' ecosystem for granular stats and data; it does well enough for my home LAN and lab setup that I find the purchase well worth the investment.Read full review

Only really one complaint

I upgraded from the USG to the USG Pro for throughput only and that really is the only noticeable difference with one big exception. Its noisy by comparison to there other products. I have 3 switches, two of which are POE, and I can hear it over all of them together.
