Outstanding acoustic performance
Uncorked is a collection of Al Stewarts songs originally released from 1967 through 1996. Not a greatest hits album but rather an interesting set list performed flawlessly by Al and his touring partner of many years Dave Nachmanoff. They compliment each other on acoustic guitars with Al singing and trading riffs with rhythm while Dave alternates between rhythm and some most impressive solos. Al's voice sounds as fresh & clear as it did in the 70's while this new take on old songs will impress both casual and seasoned fans.
The pacing of the songs maintains a nice flow beginning with "Last Days of the Century and wrapping up with "Old Admirals". Most of these songs had not previously been released as live or acoustic; while Warren Harding" and "Princess Olivia" will get your toes tapping, a 5 minute version of "Carol" is a perfect example of his re-introduction of a song, this time with the added benefit of a memorable guitar solo by Dave.Read full review...
