The ultimate modern Western

What a great film this is. Clint Eastwood at his best in this 4 Oscar winning film.

Clint Eastwood is the anti-hero retired Gunfighter now retired and rehabilitised by his late wife. Events in a new town Big Whiskey lead to one of the most hardhitting and gritty finales of any Western made.

This film acts as the corollary to Eastwood's Gran Torino, where the ending is quite different. In this film Eastwood's William Munny is truly as hard as hell and brings retribution to Gene Hackman's excellent portrayal of the characterful Sheriff.

This Clint Eastwood directed film starred the man himself and picked up several oscars including best picture.Also starring Morgan Freeman,Gene Hackman and Richard Harris this tells you the standard of acting is very high.A wonderful movie and a particularly menacing performance from Hackman.Five stars.Read full review...
