A Hidden Jewel
Unholy war for the PS1 is truly one of those amazing games that few people know of. The attention to detail is amazing. Butterflies that flow around when disturbed to actual environmental explosions that may damage/kill. So many things the developers did just worked, especially the game play. Compelling yet simple. There are no crazy combos to remember. Just knowing what each characters strengths & weaknesses are. Also knowing when to strike down your opponent or when to play defense. Playing against the AI on various levels of difficulty fits the levels of expertise. Start off on easy. Then continue to immerse and challenge yourself against the A.I. Too good for you commoners. It's the straight dope.
The game "the unholy war" might be one of the most overlooked examples of excellence that exists. It's fundamentally a battle game that's 1 on 1 with characters having distinct advantages over eachother that can make some nearly invincible to others, however the many arenas an virtually nerf or even reverse these advantages. Each player has 6 other different characters that they can use to replace a character that is defeated, winner is the first one to eliminate all 7 of opponents roster. Or there is strategy mode that is like a chess game where a square on the board produces units who can either be moved to resource squares to generate income, or moved to attack enemy units, winner is first to occupy the enemy production square and then wipe out enemy remaining forces. It's graphics are way ahead of its time and actually look really good for the era, the gameplay is super smooth and has plenty of room to play as a novice as well as an expert while still being fun. However a novice likely couldn't touch me unless they had the right character on the right environment to the greatest advantage. It's in person 2 players pvp or 1 players vs game Read full review

Childhood Favorite!
The Unholy War was one of my favorite games as a kid. I'm glad I'm able to play it again. I totaly recomend this game. An epic classic and a blast from the past. These older games are sceariously the best.
And for some reason I just have that slight sadisfaction that they have a black back for the disk. Came in perfect condition.
