It's okay but could be a lot better.

My first Universal Remote was an MX250 that came with my Carver Theatre Grand and lasted for 9 years. It was fantastic. So, fast forward to 2016 and I needed a replacement. I spoke with a rep from Universal Remote and I explained what I had and what I needed and was told that the MX450 was the best fit. Here are the improvement features over the MX250:
- uses AA batteries instead of the AAA, less expensive to run and lasts longer
- slimmer profile to hold onto
Features that fail or are worse than MX250
- only 6 main buttons, instead of the previous 10, component equipment buttons to choose from. WHAT are they thinking? Do people have LESS home theatre and sound component gear than they used to or MORE?
- stupid icons to figure out instead of a word title for the component name.
- the back light button - it used to be click once to turn on and click again to turn off or let it time off. Not now. you have to wait for it to drain your batteries on its programmed timer before it will shut off.
