These are good quality batteries, at a reasonable price, and will definately outlast standard zinc carbon " heavy duty" types. Not sure, yet, if they will also outlast standard alkaline.

Varta’s always a good choice
Although a less common brand, I always find Varta batteries good and can be found at a great price if you look around.
They’re also made in Germany so I think the environmental standards in the factory are going to be much higher than compared to junk batteries made in the Far East.Read full review...

An Absolutely Brilliant make of Batteries
Excellent, I placed these batteries in the fairy lights, I forgot to turn them off (they had been on approx 14 hours outside ) and they were still burning bright. This is now the 4th night and they are still going strong, normally I would be changing other makes of batteries. In fact I would say they are better than Duracell. This is the first time I had purchased Varta Batteries however,

Cells that don't leak.
These storage cells (batteries) don't seem to leak and destroy my electronic devices.
Another very well known maker seems unable to prevent leaking, so although I have used that other make for over thirty years, I know think it unwise to do so.
Varta on the other hand, with any of their products, have never let me down, so I now personally recommend, and insist on Varta cells/batteries, because they work the way they should work, and that makes them good value for me.Read full review...

I've used Varta batteries many times in the past and always found them to be good value for money. Out of this lot, I've used four of them so far in a 'power hungry' minivac, and so far they have survived well with no signs of slowing down despite being used on an almost daily basis.
