This is my second velux pole. I decided to buy another and see how this one fares??? The first has lasted 2 years and the hook on the end snapped in 2. So really I don’t need a new pole I only needed a hook or half a pole. Which would have saved me money. Since I only use my pole when the sun comes out I don’t think it was value for money. As I still have a new pole with a broken hook. On saying that it does the job of opening my windows and closing the blind.Read full review

Better products out there

This pole is very flimsy for a VELUX product esp at more than £30! It doesn't have cushioning in the 'grip' part, so it was very quickly scraping the window handles. Our neighbours bought a different brand pole for their velux windows and it was much sturdier, with cushioning in the grip and at a lower price!Read full review

Velux ZCT 200 Pole

Only got 4 stars as should come with instructions. There are two way you could open the window and you need to amke sure you are futherst sawy from the opening bar and it then opens easy. If you have the latest UPVC Velux you can aslo gently open an air vent without opening the window. I had no idea this was even possible. Works fine and at 2/3 of the Velux official price - still not cheap for a bit of aluminium tubing though. It is robust and works well. It has 3 length-positions which click into place - alignment is easy thanks to a line on the shaft.Read full review

Almost perfect

It does exactly what it should. It doesn't feel as strong as our previous pole but so far it has worked fine.
The only drawback is that it is not clear how to extend the pole and not easy to judge where to place the extension so that the pin engages in the hole. There are no instructions or marks on the pole to show you how to extend it, or to show what position it should be moved to for it to lock.Read full review

Main thing to note on this product is that it is 100% authentic Velux product - if like me you like to have the 'real thing' rather than a cheap imittion then this is your company ot buy from. The prouduct itself does exactly what it should do - opens and closes your Velux windows which in the weather we are having is pretty useful if like me you had broken your old one!Read full review

Wonderful solution to this hot summer, delighted!

It is very well made, telescopic action works like an umbrella does. Long enough to reach our high velum windows in sun room. Works very well- just hook open bar on window from the back, you can stand straight under the window to do this, give a gentle tug and window easily opens. It feels strong doing this. To close, simply hook the rigid plastic hook over the open bar on the window, but this time from the front, again standing directly under the window, or a bit in front. Give a hard push to close. You have to do this in one hard, swift action to ensure the window closes totally- I’d say there’s a bit of a knack to this, like most things! Once you know how hard to do it and how, it’s easy, again like most things!
Very pleased to be able to open them in this very hot weather, makes a big difference even though we also have patio doors open. Would highly recommend the product.Read full review

Received pole towards the beginning of the delivery date. Bought it to open and close our velux sky light window.
